Have you ever had a problem with a config and you wanted to beat your head against the ground because you cant find the check box it the GUI. Well your not alone, specifically the Cisco SPA 122 and 112 ATA models have given me fits when it comes to digit timers.
A client complains:
When I take the phone off-hook to make a call it quickly goes to busy signal and doesnít allow me to dial.
These settings are configurable via the config file and not the GUI so you have to do a work around to make it work as expected and not cut off the client while dialing or while getting ready to dial a number. These values are called Interdigit short timer and Interdigit long timer.
First you need to pull the device config directly from the device, use this address string in your browser, but change the IP and password to match your device.
Then copy the contents to a new file using a code editor program (I use SUBLIME its free).
Find these strings.
Change the numerical value to 10 for both strings.
Now you will need to put this file on a TFTP server so that the device can go get it. (I use Solar Winds its free).
Once the file is named and placed on the TFTP server use this string in your browser to force the device to go get the config. Again change the IP info and username and password to match your setup.
The device should reboot and once it comes back verify the config took.
Use this string in your browser again and find the strings you wanted to change and verify they have changed.
